Simple RSS Feed

RSS Feeds are provided by web sites to give a list of new resources. Full details of how RSS feeds work can be found here – What is an RSS Feed. There are a number of RSS Plugins available, but sometimes you just want to put a couple of feeds on your website as simply as possible, and that’s where this Plugin comes in handy.

The plugin provides a shortcode :

[rssonpage rss="URL" feeds="Number of Items"]

that can be placed on any page or post on your site. The URL is the URL of the RSS Feed in question, and the Number of Items is the number of items from the feed that will be displayed. To be honest, finding the URLs for RSS feeds is not as straightforward as it once was, but sites like RSS Feedspot will help enormously.

Here’s what’s needed to get the lost recent 10 entries from the BBC technology RSS Feed:

[rssonpage rss="https://feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/technology/rss.xml" feeds="10"]
